In 1996, the Great Mill (the actual mill building) burned down. In 2000, the burnt-down mill building was demolished – only the granary was preserved. A small hydroelectric power plant stands today on the remains of the old mill foundations. The granary was partially renovated in the 1990s (first structural safety renovation in 1997/98) and has since been used occasionally for events such as Christmas markets or exhibitions.
