If you're hiking in the summer, it's advisable to leave early to cross the Garraf Natural Park; there's no shade. It's a good idea to bring a sandwich for breakfast in the quiet Olivella square.

The Parc del Garraf astronomical observatory was born in 1997, thanks to an agreement between the Barcelona Provincial Council and the non-profit organization OAG. For this purpose, the old Can Tòfol agricultural warehouse, in the municipality of Olivella, was recovered and fitted out. These facilities are located next to the Can Grau Nature School. The ground floor consists of a small room for conferences and activities, an exhibition hall, a digital planetarium and on the upper floor is the telescope, with a 280 mm aperture. You can consult the public activities scheduled here: https://planetari.cat/pagines/garraf/garraf-public

The Can Suriol lime kiln is located in the municipality of Olivella, in the Garraf region (Barcelona). It is a circular structure that takes advantage of the slope of the mountain as one of the walls. These types of ovens were rented to groups of calciners who were in charge of extracting the stone, firing it and later selling it as is or in the form of lime. The process could take between a month and a month and a half. This oven operated between approximately 1930 and 1940.

Olivella is a small town located in the Garraf region, in the province of Barcelona. The municipality is made up of the small original nucleus and five urbanizations that surround it (Can Surià, la Plana Novella, les Colines, Mas Mestre and Mas Milà). There is news of Olivella since the year 999, although it was not located in the current location. It was not until the 14th century, due to demographic growth, that the parish of Sant Pere i Sant Feliu was moved to the so-called Castell Nou, this being the starting point of the current location of the nucleus.
