The Palau Baltà is a Gothic-style manor house dating from the 14th century. It was built by Francesc Babau after 1308 on the site of the Vilafranca castle. It was renovated and expanded in 1522. It is also known as "Palau del Fraret" or "Can Babau". It has three exterior facades: the one that faces the Plaza de Sant Jaume and the one on the streets of Torre and Escudellers. It consists of a ground floor, main floor and attic covered with Arabic tiles. On the main façade, which faces the Plaza de Sant Jaume, there are two elevated side towers and a portal with an off-centre semicircular arch, as well as a central gallery with colonnaded windows. Inside there is a patio with stairs, a Gothic window and a high gallery with pointed arches. Currently the ground floor houses several exhibition rooms and an auditorium (Fòrum Baltà).

On the way up to the Ermita de Sant Pau there are these stairs and a viewpoint that gives us an excellent panorama. It is worth reaching the top of the hermitage.
