The Xivert Castle Loop immerses you in a diverse landscape, combining the ruggedness of the Sierra de Irta Natural Park with the serenity of the Mediterranean coast. Over its 8.0 kilometers, the trail guides you through Mediterranean forests and coastal sections, culminating at the historic fortress of Castillo de Xivert. The ascent is steady but gentle, offering panoramic views that stretch from the mountainous interior to the blue of the sea.
This moderately difficult route, which can be completed in about 2 hours and 32 minutes with 229 meters of elevation gain, is ideal for a half-day excursion. No special permits are required, and access to the trailhead is straightforward, with parking options available. To enjoy it to the fullest, I suggest avoiding the midday hours in summer and carrying enough water, as there are no replenishment points.
Castillo de Xivert, the highlight of the hike, is a historical gem with 10th-century Arab origins and Templar expansions. Its walls tell centuries of stories, and from its circular towers, a vast expanse of the valley and coast can be seen. The combination of cultural heritage and the natural beauty of the park makes it one of the best hiking routes in the Xivert Castle area.

Two houses, a beach, a later club These two houses have stood here longer than the watersports. They date back to the early days when the beach was still private and holidays meant: family, terrace, shade, sea. The Club de Vela came much later. Not a large yacht complex, but a simple sailing school on the beach, founded in 1998 based on practical experience. Boats in the sand, courses in the summer, silence in the winter. The houses are older than the club. They represent the first phase of the place. The club represents the second: from retreat to active coast. Today, both are visible simultaneously: closed shutters, empty beach, no wind in the sails. A place between two eras.

Currently, the promenade appears to be only partially accessible, and the end is closed off. A detour through the town is in place.

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be open to visitors. There would be a great view from up there.
