Today, Luanco is an important Asturian fishing port. Like many others, its main activity years ago was whale fishing. However, its fishing activity has gradually adapted to include tuna, bonito, sardines, mackerel, and other species. Today, the port is also a marina, and the town offers an interesting tourist attraction based on its traditional character.

Nice beach with golden sand and calm waters. Attached to the beach there is a restaurant with views of the beach.

The original fishing port created at the beginning of the 20th century quickly silted up with sand, creating a fine beach, which changed its name from Beach of Death to a more geographic name for obvious PR reasons ... ;-)

Albeit protected from the sometimes harsh sea, the beach is mostly sand interrupted by linear banks of rocks, but pretty.
