This is not the Vertain mill. It's on the Templeuve side.

Nice place to stop and eat an energy bar and enjoy the view.

Such a great affinity for bikes and then such bad bike paths all over the country. I have to smile about the picture, but unfortunately not about the infrastructure.

I came from Roubaix to the Pavé du Moulin de Vertain. Here, the first 20 meters look like completely normal cobblestones. Then comes a section of maybe 50 meters where the cobblestones are in worse condition. I still rode there. And then came the section to the mill! The paving was such that I preferred to push my touring bike with luggage including camping equipment through it, so that I could continue my journey. And when you still know that there are supposed to be much worse sections. Oh my God!

From the previous Thursday Paris-Roubaix until the passage of the pros, VAN RYSEL offers a relaxation and catering area at the entrance to the paved area. Do not miss !

No go mountain bike on pavés, the wrong bike, wrong seating position: you have to bang over it quickly, otherwise it will never end. Really good for highly concentrated punchers. You easily do 140 km a day. You stomp and it vibrates...next time 200 km a day, that's still possible at 65 years of age. Good with the Gravel or even faster with the Renner, even with luggage.

** It has got only 2 stars since it's only 500 meters. However the cobbles themselves are in quite bad condition, so be careful.
