In my opinion, the passage for bicycles is not (!) forbidden. I have uploaded the signage as a photo. "No passage except / sauf for administrative vehicles and (except / sauf) for bicycles!" At the other end of the section, a sign with crossed-out bicycles and pedestrians only shows that the cycle path/footpath has ended. No ban. But there is actually no reason to cycle there, unless you want to go to the train station or come from there. Driving a short distance (approx. 500m) on firm gravel is the lesser evil than struggling through city traffic. A real insider tip for getting to and from the train station.

Nothing exceptional in fact but the site is part of the course

I cannot recommend this section for racing bikes. In addition, the passage for cyclists in this section is prohibited by traffic signs for cyclists (as of July 22).

There used to be many mills in the area, both watermills and windmills. The Bretoule mill is the only surviving windmill today. It was built in 1774. The mill can only be viewed from the outside.
