There would have existed, centuries ago, a rich and prosperous city called Herbauges where debauchery and lust reigned however. The city showed itself so resistant to the faith that God, at the request of Saint Martin who evangelized the region, made it disappear under the waters which thus gave the Lake of Grand-Lieu. Only a couple and their son, who had welcomed the saint, were warned by the Almighty of the imminent catastrophe. Fleeing with the religious, the family nevertheless received the order not to turn around. The woman and her son could not resist the temptation to look away towards the city, so, it is said, they were changed into stone statues for eternity.

Not so easy to mount the bike when you have to pull the chain at the same time, but it does

Make your outing a bit unique by crossing the river "L'Ognon" aboard the Martipontain. A barge that allows you to cross to the other side by pulling on the chain that connects it. Fun in a group, a little more physical on your own!

This boat allows you to cross the Ognon River in spring and summer. A crossing that is done by force of arms ... Crossing with bicycle possible.
