On the outskirts of Sault (in a bend at the intersection of the D 942 and the D 30) is the Mémorial des Maquis du Ventoux, inaugurated in 1956. It commemorates the 353 dead of the Maquis Ventoux and the Résistance in the Vaucluse department. The symbol is the "Reclining Man" (Le Gisant) in the center of the memorial. "They died for Your freedom." 📜 https://www.gedenkorte-europa.eu/de_de/sault-vaucluse.html

Beautiful village with a castle ruin and a (dried-up) dam with a reservoir. All daily shopping possible and at least 3 good restaurants and a café.

Self-correction: The stream the bridge crosses is not "La Nesque," but, as clearly shown in the photos, "La Croc." (If you can read,... 😂) But "La Nesque" isn't far.
