Unfortunately, the Le Bel family's estate is already quite run-down. They have been driving oil production around Pechelbronn for 4 generations since the 18th century.

An impressive property – it would need to have a function to make restoration worthwhile. Nevertheless, it's a shame to consider its current condition. Apart from the house at the entrance, which once housed a pizzeria, nothing has really been restored.

This superb section of cycle path is quiet, away from traffic, safe, with a quality surface. A real pleasure to ride with the family or in sport mode.

I drove the route twice today - Saturday. There was almost no traffic in the morning, and very little in the afternoon.

Pleasant, partly shaded route through the forest, crossing typical villages of Northern Alsace with half-timbered houses decorated with geraniums in the windows.
