Herzogin Luise liked to retreat here. Contemporaries called her "heavyweight"; her life at the side of her fun-loving husband was apparently not great happiness. She died in 1808 and – against all convention and at her express wish – was initially buried under one of her beloved old trees east of the Schweizerhaus. From here, you can admire the Friedrichsmoor and Neuhöfer carp ponds. If you're lucky, you might even spot a bird of prey or two hunting. There are seating areas for a break. It's right next to the road.
