I went running in this beautiful forest inhabited by fairies, elves and the legend of Gargantua. The very tired giant sat on the sleeping volcano. His indescribable weight collapsed the mountain. Once he was satisfied, he contemplated his work and fell asleep. More than 25m high, this coarse-grained granite rock is also called "Rocher de Boisséjour" or "Rocher des Alpinistes". Climbing has been practiced for a very long time, but the invasion of the rock by vegetation made this practice impossible. Below the rock, at the foot of the large spruce tree, is a block of granite abandoned in the process of being cut (millstone) where the legend claims that it is Gargantua's bedside table?

These huge blocks of granite form a natural dolmen that can be crossed along the Ceyrat gorge trail.
