Old Bergerac: 800 years of history. Worth a visit.

Bergerac is worth a detour and a break. The small medieval town has a covered market, a beautiful Pelisiere town square, 17th/18th century structures at the Cloitre des Recollets and of course a statue of the long-nosed Cyrano de Bergerac, pioneer of the Enlightenment and master of satire, immortalized in the Edmond drama roast stand. Gerard Depardieu immortalized him in the film.

I love this bike ride. The path is now paved (less pretty than before) but therefore very practicable for family cycling! 🤩
