Gut Hemmelmark is a village in Barkelsby near Eckernförde in Schleswig-Holstein. Until 1928, the Hemmelmark estate district was an independent municipality. The Hemmelmark manor house was built in 1903/04. Lake Hemmelmark lies a little to the east. The lake and the surrounding forests and beach areas have been part of the NATURA 2000 protected area of the Hemmelmarker See FFH area since June 2004. The lands, including the manor buildings south of the Waabser Chaussee, have been part of the Schwansen Baltic Sea coast landscape protection area since June 21, 2002.[1]
