Former volcano, Montpeloux (Mont Poilu), after being topped by a medieval castle dismantled by order of Richelieu was exploited as a basalt quarry. With the quarry closed, there are still beautiful cliffs of basalt prisms (or organs) plunging 60 meters into a lake. Festival and shows take place on the stage set up on the lake.
