We were not prepared for this beautiful cycle path and were surprised by the pleasant route and beautiful landscape through which we could float like on a sedan chair.

This church, with the patronage of Saint-MICHEL, is dedicated to the Archangel Michael. The name (from Hebrew) means "Who is like God?" He is often depicted - in paintings or as a statue - with a flaming sword, or occasionally a lance. Michael is - together with Raphael and Gabriel, and sometimes Uriel is also included - one of the three or four archangels who (according to human belief) occupy the highest rank in the heavenly hierarchy of angelic beings. Their common feast day in the calendar of saints is September 29th.

In 1916, the metre-gauge railway, affectionately known as "Le Petit Train", was commissioned to transport travelers and goods between Lannion and Plestin Les Grèves. The operation was entrusted to the Compagnie de Chemins de Fer Armoricains. This connection also contributed significantly to the development of St Efflam and St Michel en Grève, with their beautiful beaches, as seaside resorts. Nevertheless, even their potential for the movement of goods is not enough to generate profits. At the end of the 1920s, the increasing spread of the automobile also presented itself as a serious competitor. The railway line is finally closed in 1937. The commemorative plaque, near the former train station in Ploumilliau, tells the brief history of this railway line. Today, the EV4 (Vélomaritime) cycle path runs along the old railway line.
