Rhinau is located directly on the Rhine, approx. 30km south of Strasbourg. It is probably the only remaining municipality on the left bank of the Rhine that still has its areas on the right bank of the Rhine, which are a community-free area of Baden-Württemberg and largely belong to the Taubergiessen nature reserve.
