The telecommunications tower is 148.5 meters high and stands in the middle of the Großer Hals in the Deister. In the past, the tower was permanently occupied and several technicians worked in the tower daily. You can take the elevator to the first platform. Then it continues with the stairs. In the past, the Barsinghausen telecommunications tower also supplied analog television. On a snowshoe hike, the Wallmannhütte in the Deister hills becomes a quiet, almost magical place. Surrounded by snow-covered forest, it offers a welcome break where you can pause for a moment and enjoy the winter tranquility.

We were there at the end of May 2025, and the section was practically only pushable, and the path along the fields was overgrown with grass and, towards the end, with thorns and blackthorn. The result was a flat tire at the back. In any case, nothing compared to the photo.
