There is a cycleway or walkway around the perimeter of Canoe Lake. Many birds come over to you wanting fed if you stand there at the waters edge. Nice to see and popular

The fortification is an old style solid concrete enclosure. There are multiple canons at various locations, all pointing out the the sea. The fort looks well preserved and intact structurally

The statue of the soldier is a very good example of a modern war memorial. It is a stand out feature when riding along the esplanade at Eastney

Langstone Harbour is a thriving port and Site of Special Scientific Interest, an inlet of the English Channel in Hampshire, between Portsea Island, Hayling Island and Langstone. It's a great place to spot birds - some 40,000 visit over the winter months. Harbour seals also haul out here and can be seen basking in the sun.

Very detailed and insightful museum into D-Day 1944. There is much original equipment in the museum and a landing craft outside that took part in the invasion. You have to pay to go in to the museum and onto the landing craft, but you can look at and get close to the landing craft from the pavement.
