High-lying location with various services and many secondary streets that are pleasant to run on. However, the road is not too busy, a nice way to enjoy the view of Lake Maggiore.

Town on high ground halfway between Lake Maggiore and Sass Grüm. Not too busy areas, pleasant to run around, in the village there is also a tavern and some services if you need refreshment.

Small lakeside municipality not far from Gambarogno. It features the church of Saints Peter and Paul. FROM Vira it is possible to go up to high-altitude villages such as Piazzogna and Fossano which offer a fantastic view from above of the lake and the villages below.

The Neggia Alp connects Gambarogno, Switzerland, to Maccagno, Italy. It is located at an altitude of 1,395 meters. There is a refreshment point at the summit. In the winter season there is the possibility of skiing as there are two ski lifts.

The church, dedicated to Saint Charles Borromeo, was built in 1846 according to plans by the Milanese architect Giacomo Moraglia. The later added bell tower was designed by Alessandro Ghezzi. The interior leaves a monumental impression: four pairs of columns support the dome, the room is divided up in many ways and structured by frames. Moraglia also took care of the altar, the baptistery, the pulpit (later removed) and the furnishings. The high altar, by Antonio Allio, is in polychrome marble, with a round ciborium and praying angels. The choir and apse were frescoed by Richard Seewald in 1948. On the side altars are a Pietà by Antonio Ciseri (1851) and an unusual Nativity, labeled "Mauro Conconi 1848 in Magadino f." is signed. The church was restored in 1987-88 by architects Orlando Pampuri and Giampiero Orsi. The marble floor and the altar in Peccia marble are new.
