Very beautiful beach, clean and quiet despite being busy. The sea is full of fish (mask and fins are essential). Parking is €3.

Accessible from a beautiful rocky path in the middle of the scrubland and box trees, this viewpoint is magnificent: you can see L'Île-Rousse, the island of Pietra and the sea.

The region has been inhabited since the 5th to 3rd millennium BC. Around 1000 BC, the town of Agila existed there, which was dependent on the city of Tyros (Phoenicia). During their rule over Corsica, the Romans maintained a base called Rubico Rocega at this location until the 4th century AD. After that, the current urban area was almost uninhabited except for a few fishermen and farmers due to its proximity to the coast and the resulting vulnerability to enemy attacks. It was not until the 16th century that residents of the nearby town of Santa-Reparata-di-Balagna opened the first shops near the coast for trade with neighboring communities by sea.[1] The former fishing village was expanded into a trading port with city fortifications by Pascal Paoli in 1759 during the time of the Corsican Republic in order to maintain a Corsican port opposite Calvi, which was still Genoese at the time. The late founding of the town is still clearly visible due to the division of the town area into regular street squares. Until 1848, the official language was Italian.

It dates from the 3rd quarter of the nineteenth century, the time of the reign of Napoleon III. It is located on the highest point of the island of La Pietra, connected by a link to L'Ile-Rousse. It signals the entrance to the north-west coast of Corsica. The so-called "Pietra" lighthouse is part of the second wave of installations that have disappeared in Corsica, along with that of Ajaccio in particular. The current lighthouse is a square tower with a square base in the center, made of smooth masonry, painted white, with a lantern painted green. Attached to it is a small security house powered by solar panels and automated.
