Limeuil is rightly said to be one of the most beautiful villages in France. Walking through the narrow streets, you feel as if you have been transported back centuries. The houses with their quarry stone walls are mostly in good condition.

The “Ancre de Salut” in Limeuil is a great place to stop for a drink on the bank of the Dordogne with a view of both bridges. Decent food too.

A magnificent place in the Dordogne. Here the Dordogne joins the Vezere. In summer, lots of kayaking activities

A very nice campsite, right on the Dordogne and opposite Limeuil. You can't get enough of the view. And it's a stone's throw by bike (and even on foot) to the small, romantic town of Limeuil, which is stuck like a bird's nest in the Dordogne cliffs. It is best to walk up the steep little alley into town. There are some good restaurants along the way and at the top of the castle there is a beautiful park with many surprises for children (participatory information) and from where you have a wonderful view of the confluence of the Vezere and Dordogne and the two bridges arranged at right angles. Now in the pre-season in June there is not so much going on.
