The Joke Trail is a beautiful hiking trail with magnificent views. Humorous Appenzell jokes can be read on panels in Swiss German and High German at approximately 40 stations along the route. The idea for the trail came from Ruedi Rohner and Peter Eggenberger, who created it in 1993.

A detour here is worthwhile, even if it's a bit off the beaten track. The menu has a good selection and card payments are accepted. Beautiful views to the south and east.
