This bridge used to be further up the Aare near Hunziken. Luckily she was given a meaningful second life. With barbecue spots right next door.

It is the old Hunziken Bridge, which was dismantled down the Aare and rebuilt here when the new road bridge between Belp and Rubigen was built.

The Auguet Bridge was built in 1836 and stood near Hunziken until 1974, connecting Rubigen and Belp. A newly built concrete bridge made the covered wooden bridge redundant. But what to do with the historic structure? The solution presented itself at this location, as a connection between Muri and Belp. The former Hunziken Bridge thus became the popular Auguet Bridge.

Beautiful landscape for relaxed walks. Sometimes a lot of people on the way.

You should be careful and observe the driving prohibition signs. But now in autumn there will be hardly any police checks.
