The chateau de Mauvezin is worth a visit and is open all year. It stands magestically protecting its surrounding Baronnies. As you walk the area, the castle comes in and out of view.

The Baronnies are full of beautiful bucolic pastoral scenes. A little like my home town Malvern, England. You can sit and admire from this make-shift but made public bench.

Mauvezin castle dominates the entire Toulouse-Bayonne road from its crenellated keep. The inner courtyard is a perfect example of medieval military architecture, in which replicas of war machines are exhibited. You can visit the castle during your hike!
