The Margarethenkirche in the city center is a late Gothic hall church (first mentioned in 1064) and is considered Gotha's main church. In 1522, the pastor of Sankt Margareten proclaimed the Gospel, thereby driving the Reformation forward in Gotha. The baroque interior of the church was created between 1725 and 1727. With the consecration of the Schuke organ (1961), a lively concert activity began again in the Margarethenkirche, which continues to this day. This is because the German Music Festival already took place here in 1812, with Carl Maria von Weber and the Gotha court conductor Louis Spohr also participating.

The path we're now walking along is quaint and enchanting, and we look out over the city and the surrounding mountains. We continue on. We're now on the Krahnberg and Kriegberg hills. For centuries, the Kriegberg served a military purpose. This resulted in a unique flora and fauna. We walk through this landscape, across vast meadows, and see the Großer Inselsberg mountain in the distance—a breathtaking view across the mountains. At the edge of the path, we find a memorial stone; Silvio died here in 2021. We didn't know him or the circumstances. We pause; this is a beautiful place. https://youtu.be/FpIJ9CkBCwM
